It took almost two weeks to get this rig setup right. But now we have an armature that reads its pose directly from my face. This is just a test to capture voice and face. The Gatekeeper doesn’t have any clothes right now so the establishing shot of him opening the door is frankly awkward. Hence the tight shot. We’ll give him some fashion and light the scene properly. This character was made by Unreal, the 3D engine we are using for all these scenes. Progress is speeding up as we learn these new tools as we go.
If you’re keeping up with the storyboard this is slides 10-12 of 18. Once we have all 18, we will cut Act 1 “Cave of the Patriarchs” and decide where to go from there.
