Black-Eye Club
The flow is a little choppy making it difficult to get into the story at the beginning, but once you get in there - oh man! The content is so original and thought-provoking. Everyone should read this book and take another look at how we experience this world.
This book is an invitation wearing the carefully prepared dermis of science fiction. A figurative unpacking of the scaffolding behind reality. He uses language like glyphs-each word arranged less like narrative and more like architecture on a cathedral that paints its own details as the matter unfolds, designed to reverberate through the spirit of our age. Not just to be read, but to be tuned into. This book doesn’t feel written to be decoded. But rather as a suggestion of something just beneath articulation. Something that could be unpacked within the mind. It’s challenging in the way it finds you. It has symbolic voltage humming throughout. Providing beautiful cracks to your visage and letting in natural light… IF… you have eyes to see.
James True delivers a white-knuckle ride through a future that feels more possible with each passing day. Black-Eye Club vibrantly teems with nature's dangerous pulchritude and a cast of rich characters—each uniquely burdened by their own palpably hellish plight of a longing left unfulfilled. James True brings the world of man to a new jungle, whose wilderness knows no bounds.
The moment I began reading the adventure began and I didn’t stop reading until each page was finished. It’s been awhile since I read a whole book in a day, but I became dedicated quickly! There are themes of current concern, and ties to ancient story lines that converge quite nicely. The movie evoked by James with his words is crisp, clear, rich and immersive. Even while revealing ideas that made me queasy, the medical thriller aspect hooked me. I was swimming in the story and it carried me along with care, lots of rapids and swirling pools of images, but always carried through the scenes with no disappointments! How else to sum it up other than you should read it! Clear your schedule though.
Captivating and "eye-opening". JT shows how we evolve from predator to prophet, from beast to god, and from elephant to man. Give it a shot!
I truly enjoyed this exploration of complex human emotions at the root of what it means to be human. Every page has rich descriptions of landscapes, emotions, and architecture blended into a haunting, yet beautiful tale. I totally recommend this on every level.
A hard-boiled barely sci-fi novel that’s got enough real in it to drive the imagination and enough imagination to make ya think. Quick, delightful, read.
If you are not yet aware of James True and the workings of his mind space brace yourself for brilliant fragments of genius, this is an easy read and one that gets your brain thirsty for more of his mental imagery powerfully unlocking new flavors and colors leaving your eyes wanting to hallucinate more, to see it all…
True James True style book, opens and bends the mind but in a realistic way. I read greatest apocalypse ever too, now will chose another book to order from James!
James True brings his unique take on reality to life in a short novel that leaves you wanting more. James' cutting edge synthesis of research paints a world where we only see what we can handle. He gives us a glimpse of some of the things we might not be seeing because we don't have the context or openness to accept. My main complaint is the brevity, my brain was askind and then...?
Excellent read, well written. Love how James can paint a picture with his words! It's great how he can blend his knowledge and teachings into his fictional stories. Very much enjoyed, can't wait for the next one!
A captivating tale which demonstratesJames True's remarkable intelligence and research. I read the book in one sitting. The characters are engaging , stimulating the reader to want to know more. Thought provoking like the man himself .
I thought it could not get any better than Quantum Rapture, then I read its prequel. I have read Quantum Rapture at least 5 times and immediately wanted to re-read Black-Eye Club as soon as I finished it. James, your books are absolutely wonderful!
While a short read, coming at roughly 100 pages, the content is packed with perpetual mystery through events and intellectual exploration via character dialogue. Chapter 9 is particularly fascinating with regards to the latter, exploring our ability to perceive and the significance of the colour blue. This is Sci-Fi at it's finest and likely as never before delivered. 'Black Eye Club' manages to avoid common topes and, in doing so, stands out amid an otherwise busy genre. I personally intend on giving the story another read, to further pick-up what James True has woven into the character dialogue. Definitely worth the time and money spent.
James True has an unmatched ability to produce content that is thought provoking and wildly entertaining
a fun Sci-fi story that explores topics of hermaphroditism and the unseen world we choose not to see.
If you're searching for a paradigm shift, look no further. Black Eye Club by James True offers a brilliant, fresh, and thought-provoking story that has completely changed the way I view the world and myself.
Must read! James has a talent for writing in a way that leaves you on the edge of your seat. This is a great prequel to the classic Quantum Rapture. As I was reading it, the way it is written made me feel like I was watching 9 part series on Netflix. This could easily be converted into a sci-fi show. Also, some of the elements of the story feel like they could actually be happening in real life today or in the future. Waiting for his next book.
Not sure if I’d recommend reading Quantum Rapture or this first but you won’t read just one. This will unsettle you in a way that a serious trip will. The story is weird, characters interesting, and narrative was paced well. The thoughts this story provokes are the main course though and incredible.
James True is a deep philosopher, a skilled artist and a talented word smith. He has an astonishing ability to mesmerize his audience with his expression, whether it is spoken, written or through the medium of visual art. His style of communication can give you the impression of being spontaneous and even random at times, but if you pay attention, you will notice that everything he produces always carries a message that aims to prompt you into improving your posture, which is to say an empowered perspective and attitude towards your predicament. James True doesn’t try to persuade you into adopting any particular belief; Instead he enthusiastically invites you to become curious about what you are choosing to ignore, without knowing that you do. Many voices, from ancient to contemporary are propagating some variation of the message: ”open your eyes to the truth”. James True however adds complexity by insisting that the world isn’t broken and that we purposefully shield ourselves from the full experience of reality because some truths are more than we can bear. He proposes that lying to ourselves and to each other is even as fundamental as a necessity for building a civilization. These concepts and more are illustrated in the stories of Black-eyed club. While it is written as a fictional novella, it is simultaneously jam packed with the exploration of curious facts, concepts and perspectives that will be familiar to James' readers and YouTube audience. It is written in the form of short chapters that weave the fates of the characters into the main storyline. The book is pocket sized and pruned down to only 120 pages, which makes it a fairly quick read. However what becomes apparent when reading it is how condensed it is. While this feature is much welcomed in his other, more philosophical works, I would personally have preferred a bit more fleshed out style of writing in order to get a better feel for the fictional characters in the book. I would have liked to get to know Leda, Blueman, Linus, Sawa, Rose, Buddy and the rest a bit better. This is the only reason I give the book four stars instead of five, as it is otherwise a masterpiece.
James True is clearly someone who talks about interesting things. Having read Blueprints of Mind Control, a great book for seeing through some of the visage, I knew how good of a writer he was (if you watch his stuff, you'll probably guess that from how he speaks). But this book was something else. In a short hundred or so pages, James sets up three great characters—Blueman, Leda, and Sawa—along with some interesting side-characters, and he shows you behind the veil for yourself. "' . . . We live in a hyper-reality of hallucinated information transposed by what's important for our survival. We don't see. We commission a hallucination and show that to ourselves for tactical purposes.'"Just incredible writing, here. As someone who's been on sort of a spiritual mission, anyway, the whole book seemed to scream, "Let Go! "
The book goes in the concept how the human brain renders its reality and how it's regulated to control how much reality can be seen. Like how people didn't used to have a name for blue because they have not had as high of resolution. The black eye club is for those who can see more without stroking out from the intensity, and mixed.in with some Frankenstein human genetics tampering. Overall a good book.
Fast paced, provocative and punchy - a real Mike Tyson of a read. When you've picked yourself up off the floor, you'll want to read it again, then you'll be ready for round two - Quantum Rapture !An outstanding book from James that really challenges how we look at our world - literally !!
Book is great reflection James True’s original cosmological viewpoint. Highly recommend reading his other book and watching his content on YT, great work, very under appreciated, but that’s the vitriol I guess
Always a surprise from this author.
James True sets the stage for Quantum Rapture with diamond grit and clarity of vision. Pioneers and pirates are not relics of the past. The world and its demons haunt what genius pushes progress forward as the reader explores what man might endure to deny his own Anopia. James True has created a rich environment, teeming with interesting characters. I highly recommend it!
This is the kind of book that keeps you thinking about it's concepts long after you've finished it. It'll have you peering into the vast blue sky in wide eyed ponderance. You can't see all there is to see if you only see what you see. It was fun to connect some dots from the first book (Quantum Rapture) to this one, and definitely left me wanting even more. Perhaps a third installment?! James True never fails to deliver fascinating concepts in an astoundingly eloquent way. I'm on the edge of my seat waiting for more!
James is the man who knew too much, and this book as well as his collection are a gift to (whoa)mankind. Amazing on its own, and especially amazing if you've been following his show. I want more
The trailer that played in my cave rendering whilst reading the overview has me trippin! Cannot wait to digest this and it’s a series y’all! Number 2 is in the Q!♒️⭐️
