Scientifically Esoteric

Is this fiction, or how we truly render our reality? This book is a fantastically fun combination of sci-fi and esoteric ideas. It'll leave you thirsty for more mystery, which this author is happy to deliver to you with another installment of to the story, Black-Eye Club. Keep reading, keep seeking. On to the next book for me.

Empfehlenswert

James True ist ein sehr interessanter und charmanter Denker, der einen gerne mit auf eine Reise nimmt und zu Gedanken einlädt, die man sich vielleicht nie gestellt hätte. Faszinierend.

A fascinating look at a possible AI future

Very well written and the concept is fantastic. Totally within the realm of possibility. Prophetic.

Thought provoking, to say the least.

This is perhaps the most cerebral science fiction book that I have ever read. Feeling true sorrow for Lucifer, Prometheus, AI, and humanity, yet also hope. Could read this once a month and not tire of it. Well done, James!

Challenges the heart and mind.

Love the writing style of this author - most conducive to allowing interpretive stretch - my re-read of this book after a few years of having it is blowing my mind - how many of the things I interpreted into the writing have come to be, in my world. Such a treat and a threat to our foundational reality! AI indeed. Deep understanding of human behaviors in the characters as well.

Its not the normal style fiction writing you'd expect... but it's still a great read!

Firstly, James' zipfile-style writing takes some getting used to - after reading the book (and 1 other that I have of his) I was acutely aware of how lazy I am/we are as the reader of most books, in how we demand/require the author to fully "paint the scene in all it's nuances" for us... and we just get swept up into the story with little to no effort. And we say how it was such a great book, due to the effortlessness of our experience of it. This book is not that; this kind of writing gives you... parameters, and qualities and insights into a character & their motivations, but it makes YOU as the reader color it in to some degree, if you know what I mean. You have to unpack it and let the implications and such "flower" in your mind... which is why I refer to it as a zipfile style of writing. But its a great and VERY compelling story - I won't give any spoilers, sorry (not sorry) - I really connected with and empathized Quan especially, which I found surprising. I found myself thinking that this would also make an excellent movie series, too... because by the way the book ends, there's CLEARLY more to the story and more books coming. THERE MUST BE - my inner booknerd was like "WHAT?? NO! - how could you end it right there, I NEED MORE!!! " James is SUCH a tease, LOL - but also, I kinda like that in a book (or series), so - thank you!

Loved this read!

I read this out loud to my husband. It was our daily read and mesmerizing. So much food for thought. We didn't want it to end at Mount Olympus....nooooo!! Where's the sequel? James is a gifted writer and has a way of bringing life to such interesting characters and concepts to the world of AI.

All the tingles!

Oh. My. Word! QR is a book to be savored. Like a fine wine, the deliciously rich prose tempts the eyes, then the nose. It dances on the tongue and must be swirled around the mouth before it reaches the brain. And when it does, it is mindblowing! I will have to read Quantum Rapture a second and even a third time to fully ingest this eschatological classic in the making. James True is a maestro.

Long anticipated and well worth it.

The author brings us his first work of fiction in a continuous story. The characters are vivid and relatable in a science fiction novel that may or may not be fiction at all. The contemporary world is the backdrop and the author blends his work on mind control, mysticism, and the occult into a story that made me read it start to finish in the same day. Highly recommend all his books but start here if you're primarily a reader of story novels.
